Baslow Food Fair

On Sunday, we will be taking some bread up to Baslow to the Food Fair taking place in Baslow Village Hall from 10.30am. We are very much looking forward to taking the loaf into new territory and hopefully meeting some new customers. As I will have a French baker helping me on Sunday morning with the baking, we are going to be trying some 'baguettes traditionelles' to add to our normal French baguettes. We will also be taking some products from the deli and some tasty treats including Portuguese custard tarts. There is more information on the organiser's website.
Bread-making courses
Further to my last newsletter, a lot of people have been asking about the plans for bread-making courses that I mentioned. It looks likely that the first date will be in September and that I will run at least three courses between then and Christmas. There has been interest in both basic bread-making and sourdough bread baking so I will offer two different courses initially. Both will be a full day, probably on a Sunday and the cost will include a breakfast snack, lunch and coffee and tea throughout the day. As well as taking home all the goodies that you bake, there will be information sheets and recipes to take home too.
I will be using this mailing list to let you know about booking and cost in due course (as soon as we have signed the lease for the new space next door!). In the mean time, you can keep checking the website for any additional information.
Healthy bread

If you have ever wondered how healthy bread at the loaf is, then I have written this blog entry in response to a recent newspaper article. I aim to highlight just how healthy the bread we bake is. In essence, all you need to know is that our bread is deliciously tasty, very digestible and 100% additive-free.

Times shop local campaign
We are delighted to be taking part in The Times shop local campaign which started last weekend. We are particularly delighted to have been featured as one of 'Eleven of the best' local shops in the country!
